Work has commenced on the next phase of high quality business units at the 20 acre Airfield Business Park in Market Harborough.
Situated on the northern outskirts of the town, Airfield Business Park is the flagship commercial development from Loughborough-based contractor and developer, William Davis Ltd. The latest phase will comprise nine new units, varying from 2,949 sq ft to 23,077 sq ft (by combination). Each unit offers premium workspace together with designated car parking and HGV loading areas.
Airfield Business Park, which is also home to the award-winning Harborough Innovation Centre, has attracted widespread interest from businesses looking to expand. The final five units of the previous phases, comprising a total of 13,757 sq ft, were sold recently to two local companies; telephone, security and audio manufacturer, North Supply Ltd and air conditioning specialists, Trace Energy Systems Ltd.
Rob Gamble, company director, Trace Energy Systems said: “As a business with a UK-wide client base, we were searching for easily accessible premises that would accommodate storage and office space under one roof. Airfield Business Park offered the ideal solution for both criteria. The move has improved efficiency; the majority of our products are now stored centrally and our engineers benefit from direct access to the A14 and M1. In addition, the modern, new unit reflects the company’s growth aspirations perfectly.”
The next phase, to be built in two blocks, has been designed to complement the existing units, with brick and profile cladding and feature glazing to the entrances. William Davis has commenced work on Block A, which comprises four freehold units, and these will be complete in June 2013.
Paul Watkins, project co-ordinator commented: “The industrial and business units at Airfield Business Park have proven popular with small and medium sized businesses looking for an accessible, edge of town development. The high level of interest we have received to date, culminating in the sale of the remaining units, has been very encouraging and we therefore took the decision to commence construction on the next phase. With a good stream of enquiries already taken we are hopeful Airfield will continue to buck the trend.”
