A Birmingham retail and leisure property agent has been named most successful in his sector in an annual national ranking of commercial property agents.
Scott Robertson, who co-founded Creative Retail with Ed Purcell in Birmingham in October 2017, secured number one Retail Agent, while the company came sixth in the Top 10 retail agencies in the UK in the EG Radius On-Demand Rankings of space transacted in 2021.
Creative Retail beat off competition from other larger, national consultancies despite having just one dedicated office in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter.
Mr Robertson said: “We worked extremely hard last year against a challenging retail backdrop and, clearly, our efforts and deep knowledge of the sector were a significant part of this result. However, it really is testament to the sheer level of opportunity across the Midlands that has allowed us to transact so much space.”
Since launching the company, Scott and Ed have been joined by investment director Matt Pegg in 2019, and in January this year by development director Andy Robinson.
Scott Robertson puts their rapid rise up the rankings down to the team’s modern, proactive and enthusiastic approach.
“We give current, practical and honest advice to our clients at a time when the retail landscape is constantly evolving and proactive marketing strategies are more important than ever ”.
Corporate clients include AEW, CBRE Global Investors, DTZ Investors, London and Cambridge Group, Evolve Estates, Seven Capital and REI plc.
In Birmingham, their most recent client wins include Talisker Corp’s ‘The Cube’ and Martineau Place, recently acquired by Sixth Street and Henley Investments.
