Three retailers at leading shopping and leisure destination, Derbion, have announced significant investment in their stores within the scheme.
The Body Shop and Superdrug are set to invest in their existing units, with each seeking to expand their current offer at Derbion. Toy Planet – which has just been named as the independent toy retailer of the year – will also move into a new, larger space within the centre this spring, which will see it add more than 1,200 sq ft to its footprint.
The Body Shop will be unveiling a new concept store at Derbion, following a three week re-fit in February. Once reopened, the store will offer a sustainable refilling station, where shoppers can stock up on beauty essentials such as shampoo and conditioner in reusable aluminum bottles. The store fixtures will be made from recycled wood and plastics, plus worktops made from 100% recycled materials.
Superdrug has already begun work to refresh the front of its existing store, updating the lighting and fixtures throughout, with work set to be completed by mid-February. The store is also extending its beauty services to include an additional threading chair, ear piercing and two nail bars. Visitors will also be able to enjoy new cosmetics brands and an extended perfume range in-store.
Michael Boundy, senior asset manager at Derbion, commented: “We’re proud that so many of our retailers are showing such confidence in the centre, as well as the city, by investing in their stores.
“Derbion continues to go from strength to strength, with the arrival of several new retailers such as Mango, Tommy Hilfiger, FLANNELS and the recent announcement that Jack Wills is set to join the scheme. This year will also see Frasers opening its doors, with further significant projects in the pipeline.”
