The Birmingham office of Knight Frank is to relocate to a new office at 103 Colmore Row.
The independent global property consultancy has signed a 15-year lease on 4,376 sq ft, taking part of the 18th floor of the 26-storey building with joint venture partners Sterling Property Ventures (Sterling) and Tristan Capital Partners (Tristan).
Knight Frank is currently based at One Colmore Row, where it employs circa 50 people.
It is set to move to its new office at the end of Q1 2022, increasing its occupation of office space in the city.
Ashley Hudson, partner and Birmingham office head at Knight Frank, said: “Not only does 103 Colmore Row tick all the right boxes in terms of ESG, design and location, it will also provide our colleagues and clients with a best-in-class working environment – as well as unbeatable views of the Birmingham skyline.
“Our combined Birmingham business is expanding with record revenue and profits for the last couple of years. A significant part of our strategy is to recruit the very best talent in the industry and our move to 103 Colmore Row reflects this. It is equally essential that our existing people are motivated and uplifted by the move and we firmly believe that this is the best building in Birmingham to achieve this.”
103 Colmore Row comprises 223,631 sq ft of BREEAM ‘Excellent’ Grade A office space and is the first commercial building in Birmingham to achieve an EPC ‘A’ rating. At 108 metres, it is the tallest office development in the city.
Knight Frank is the fourth occupier to take office space in the building, joining wealth management and professional services group Tilney Smith & Williamson, business and financial advisers Grant Thornton, law firm Shoosmiths, and workspace provider x+why, which will operate 31,500 sq ft of flexible office space on the first, second and third floors. x+why will also operate the members’ business club on the 18th floor.
The two-storey top floor restaurant and ground floor café will both be operated by D&D London.
James Howarth, managing director of Sterling Property Ventures, said: “As businesses start to adapt to new ways of working and understanding their future office requirements, we have seen increased interest from occupiers looking to relocate to better quality accommodation.
“103 Colmore Row offers the choice of either traditional or flexible co-working office space, through our partnership with x+why, plus a range of on-site facilities and amenities, to facilitate different ways of working.”
Letting agents for the building are Colliers International, Cushman & Wakefield and Knight Frank.
