Invest Lincolnshire who will sponsor the 2013 Property & Business Investment Show at the Epic Centre Lincolnshire Showground on Thursday 21st March have selected perfect timing for all the post budget buzz as Chancellor George Osborne announces that the 2013 Budget will be held on Wednesday 20 March.
This announcement follows the Autumn Statement, during which Mr Osborne set out plans on taxes, benefits, government spending and forecasts for the economy.
The Budget will be Mr Osborne’s fourth and probably the most important since the Conservative-Liberal Democrat coalition took power in 2010.
Speakers for the Show will be confirmed in the New Year, but likely to include Alastair Cunningham East Midlands Agent for the Bank of England with a post budget finger on the economic pulse along with expert analysis on implications of the budget statement for the Region.
Following the autumn statement the local business community generally feels the economy is healing, and that the changes revealed in the statement were necessary in order to make progress in tackling the deficit
Many welcomed the fact that the East Midlands will see 1.8 million people get an income tax cut and the 2.7 million people in particular who drive will welcome the cancellation of a rise in fuel duty that the previous Government had planned for. Businesses acknowledge they will certainly benefit from the drop in corporation tax and the small business rate relief but also mention they are pleased that the 890,000 pensioners in the East Midlands will see a further rise to their pensions.
Entrance to the Show on the 21st March (9.30-4.30pm) including exhibition, seminars and parking in completely free of charge (on line booking www.businessshowsgroup.co.uk)
