After a year hiatus due to Covid-19, Nottingham’s property and construction professionals celebrated the long-awaited return of Nottingham Hot Property last night (2 December), raising money for Young Lives vs Cancer.
Held at PRYZM, the popular event – which is in its seventeenth year – saw leading professionals from across the region get up on stage to raise thousands of pounds to support vulnerable children.
Since it was established, Hot Property has raised in excess of £295,000 for children’s charities across the East Midlands. The 2021 chosen charity, Young Lives vs Cancer, helps children, young people, and their families find the strength to face everything cancer throws at them and works hard to provide support that’s easy to access and meets individual needs.
Max Baker, fundraising engagement manager (East Midlands), said: “It was brilliant to see everyone come together to put on an incredible show and raise vital funds to support Young Lives vs Cancer and our Home from Home in Nottingham, Billy’s House.
“From everyone at Young Lives vs Cancer, thank you to Nottingham Hot Property for helping us support children and young people with cancer and their families, particularly at a time when our families are having to face an increased cost of living in addition to all the financial and emotional difficulties a cancer diagnosis brings.”
Emma Atkins, a Hot Property trustee and organiser, said: “It was absolutely fantastic to get everyone back together after the challenging 18 months we’ve all had and not only let our hair down but raise vital funds for our wonderful charity.
“We’re so pleased to support Young Lives vs Cancer this year as the team do some incredible work for youngsters in the East Midlands. Working with the charity and furthering the support they provide means that the return of Hot Property since its one-year hiatus is even more significant for the region.
“The theme ‘Reload’ really highlighted that we’re back and better than ever – from Fleetwood Mac to Evanescence and Kings of Leon to The Pogues, we had some outstanding performances that made the evening feel electric. I think this year has been one of the best so far and I can’t wait to see how much we raised.”
The sponsors for this year’s event include Pagabo and Pulse Consult as headline sponsors as well as CPMG, CPW, Faithful+Gould, Overbury, Pick Everard, Samclo, and Shakespeare Martineu. Joining these are: PR agency Cartwright Communications, design agency RizkMcCayTribe, design and print agency Ginger Root, Confetti Media Group, and the event’s media partner The Business Desk.
