Railpen, the investment manager for the £35bn Railways Pension Scheme, has announced Police, the Italian fashion accessories brand, has opened a new location in Caledonia Park, Scotland’s premier designer village.
Adjacent to Hugo BOSS and Radley, Police’s new 1,500 sq ft store features Police’s full range of lifestyle and apparel products. This includes its latest collaborations, such as the Police x Lewis Hamilton eyewear range, designed in partnership with the F1 racing driver.
The opening of Police follows further positive results for Caledonia Park, with sales and footfall continuing to outperform previous years. During the recent Scottish half term week, footfall was up 2.4% compared to 2019. The increase in footfall, alongside the opening of Police and recent quality brands such as Dune London and Johnston’s of Elgin, further underlines Caledonia Park’s position as the prime retail destination in the border’s region. This position has also been boosted by the comprehensive refurbishment program Railpen have undertaken at Caledonia Park, including revitalisation of public realm, enhancement of the units, and improved landscaping.
Matthew Howard, Head of Property Asset Management at Railpen, commented: “Expanding our retail offer at Caledonia Park with another designer fashion brand, Police, is great news and it will be a great addition to the destination. In line with the recent opening of Dune London, Caledonia Park continues to offer choice and high-quality retail experiences for our visitors. With Caledonia Park’s increasing trading figures and footfall, we are confident that the opening of Police will enhance our location, allowing more opportunity for our trusted visitors.”
Zaid Moosa, Retail Operations Manager of Police added: “Opening our second location in Scotland within a destination that is centered around enhancing the shopping experience of consumers is something we value very highly, and we are looking forward to the future at Caledonia Park. This marks a big step for Police’s brand journey, as we make a move to expand our retail presence in new regional destinations.”
Police was founded in 1983 by the De Rigo brothers and has since partnered with numerous celebrities including sportsmen, actors and musicians. Starting as a unisex eyewear brand, it now sells a range of fashion accessories. Its products are now distributed to more than 80 countries and have been advertised by numerous celebrities including David Beckham, George Clooney and Antonio Banderas. The Caledonia Park store is only Police’s second in Scotland and marks a new expansion phase for the brand, which already has a large presence in over 40 countries, such as China, Japan, India and South Africa.
