Quintain, owner/operator and developer of 85-acre Wembley Park, has announced a deal with the UK subsidiary of global electronics manufacturer, Casio. The UK branch of the iconic watch, calculator and musical instrument brand will take 10,000sq ft of office space on the 5th floor of Quintain’s ‘The Hive’ building at Wembley Park. Casio will occupy one floor, accommodating its 100 employees at the newly developed building which boasts both BREEAM excellent and Wired Certified Gold ratings.
Relocating from Brent Cross, the new space at The Hive will give the company a strong presence in the thriving, well-connected Wembley Park neighbourhood, as well as reflect the Casio brand and culture. In a post-Covid world, Casio is focused on creating an environment that is suited to the new hybrid and agile way of working and recognises the need for a workspace to inspire and energise its employees and encourage imagination and teamwork.
When searching for the right site, Casio looked for an area that had a similar creative and youth appeal as Carnaby Street, where its G-SHOCK store is located and recognises the importance of the audiences Wembley Park attracts, both in terms of enticing talent and exploring consumer habits of the younger generation. The brand is also planning to use its new office as a hub where it will replicate its Carnaby Street store consumer events as well as host teacher training sessions for its education range.
The Hive building boasts 115,000 sq ft of Grade A offices and 10,000 sq ft of retail space, situated right next to the National Stadium. Spread over ground, mezzanine and eight upper floors the recently completed space offers ultra-fast Wi-Fi throughout and shared workspace with refreshments sold by Out of Office coffee on the ground floor. In 2016, Quintain secured a pre-let contract at The Hive for 59,000 sq ft from leading housing association Network Homes.
Tim Gould, Deputy Managing Director of CASIO UK said:
“The Hive building at Wembley Park ticked all of our boxes. The area perfectly captures the Casio philosophy of creativity and contribution, and the modern and vibrant community is well suited to our next stage of growth and evolution as a company. We look forward to meeting our new neighbours as we embark on this exciting new chapter.”
Jason Margrave, Executive Director of Development at Quintain, said:
“We’re particularly proud that Casio has chosen Wembley Park as its new home. Given the challenges that Covid brought, offices can no longer just be a place where staff just sit at a desk, they need to offer more. As well as The Hive’s flexible space and the area’s great connectivity, Wembley Park provides employees with several amenities on their doorstep, including BOXPARK and London Designer Outlet, so those in the office can make the most of their days working on site and catching up with fellow workers. With strong interest in the remaining space, businesses like Casio are key to the continued development of our fantastic neighbourhood and we look forward to welcoming them.”
Over recent years, Wembley Park has developed its world-class office offering, providing tenants with a well-connected location less than 15 minutes away from central London, high-spec buildings with superfast broadband and a range of amenities sure to help companies attract and retain top talent, such as yoga, gym and dance studios, green spaces, shops, bars and restaurants. The offer is continuing to evolve with new retail store openings including Tommy Hilfiger, Amazon Fresh and the opening of Masalchi, from twice Michelin-starred chef Atul Kochhar. Some of the businesses already calling Wembley Park home include Air France, the Football Association (FA), Brent Council and will soon welcome the headquarters of the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
