Leeds-based commercial property developer Eshton Group has struck two significant deals for its Castleford site.
Eurocell has now begun fit-out of its 6,000 sq ft unit, while a 4,400 sq ft unit let by Formula One Autocentres has been sold to Sheffield Mutual.
Eurocell, a leading manufacturer, distributor and recycler of UPVC window, door, conservatory and roofline systems, has committed to the unit on a 15-year lease. Its new location will become its 219th branch in the UK. The company will now complete the fit-out of the unit and plans to begin trading in Castleford in the new year.
Formula One Autocentres, one of the country’s largest independent autocentre chains, has committed to a long-term lease and will begin trading this year after completing an extensive fit-out. Sheffield Mutual has purchased the unit from Eshton, but the letting remains unchanged.
Eshton Group, which has a track record of transforming brownfield sites in strategic locations into much-needed commercial property, was granted planning permission for the Castleford location in September 2020 and began works in March 2021. Eshton will retain the Eurocell unit within its investment portfolio.
Both Eurocell and Formula One Autocentres will benefit from strong transport links, sitting close to Junction 32 of the M62 with good access to the town centre.
As a result of changing habits over the course of the pandemic and challenges stemming from Brexit, demand for warehouse and industrial space in the UK continues to skyrocket.
Richard Tovey, director at Eshton, said: “We’re delighted to have let both of these units to such significant businesses. This location was chosen specifically to enable organisations like these to thrive; it boasts excellent transport links and generated a range of interest from ambitious businesses in the area. We are pleased to see that our new tenants share our enthusiasm and belief in the location.
“By taking this unit for 15 years without a break clause, Eurocell is demonstrating a long-standing commitment to supporting the West Yorkshire region with new job vacancies and a wealth of services that will bolster the local economy after such a turbulent time.”
Andy McDonnell, managing director of Eurocell Building Plastics, commented on the new branch, saying: “We’re pleased to be introducing yet another new Eurocell branch to the ever-expanding network.
“Being placed in such a convenient location, we look forward to welcoming our customers to the new branch, as we aim to make accessing our products even easier for the trade.
“What’s more, we’re supporting the local community by creating further employment opportunities. And with a new in-store team on board to help answer any queries for our trade customers, we look forward to opening the doors of our new Castleford branch very soon.”
