Handelsbanken, the fast-growing relationship bank with more than 140 branches in the UK, has chosen Eleven Hundred Parkway North in Stoke Gifford as its regional head office for the South West.
Colliers International’s Bristol office negotiated the deal on behalf of the landlord, whilst the bank which has taken a ten year lease on the building was represented by the Bristol office of Alder King.
With more than 750 branches in 24 countries, Great Britain represents the bank’s fastest-growing market. The soon-to-open South West head office will support an expanding network of local branches which offer bespoke banking services to both corporate and individual customers.
The refurbished property is configured over the ground and first floor and includes 34 on-site car parking spaces. Parkway North is a two-storey building located immediately opposite the Virgin Active Health Club and enjoys easy access to junction 1 of the M32, which leads directly into Bristol City Centre, and junction 19 of the M4 motorway. Major occupiers in the area include the Ministry of Defence and Barclays Bank.
Colliers International offices specialist James Preece said: “An impressive location in North Bristol plus full refurbishment had been key factors in the prestigious deal.
“Eleven Hundred Parkway North provides the best of both worlds in terms of travel options. Not only does it give Handelsbanken an excellent parking ratio, it is also walking distance from Parkway Railway Station.
Simon Price, Head of Agency at Alder King added: “Following a comprehensive search Handelsbanken were attracted by the self-contained nature of the property and the added benefit of great local amenities.”
