A stunning glazed reception area, eco-friendly lighting and new business lounge are now in place at a landmark Southampton office building following the completion of its major refurbishment.
Office spaces at 2 Charlotte Place, in the heart of the city centre, have been transformed by leading commercial and office developer Kingsbridge Estates following its acquisition of the building in 2019.
Works carried out by Amiri Construction on behalf of Kingsbridge included an improved access route, new double height glazed reception area, breakout and collaborative spaces inside the building and new cladding outside.
Improved sustainability measures inside the nine-storey, 80,000 sq ft building include secure bicycle parking, showers and lockers, electric vehicle charging points and more energy-efficient lighting.
The building is home to businesses including infrastructure consultants AECOM, planning and development consultancy Turley and the law firm BLM. Some space remains available for let in a range of suite sizes from 766 sq ft up to 12,000 sq ft.
Chris Fry, Chief Executive of Kingsbridge Estates, said: “Our commitment to providing superb quality workspaces continues with this significant investment, designed to meet high demand for quality office space in Southampton city centre. We are delighted to unveil the results, which benefit existing businesses in the building and will also be desirable to the high calibre of occupants we expect to welcome into the remaining available space.”
Kingsbridge Estates is a privately owned property company focused on developing and investing in commercial property across the South of England, including industrial and warehouse and office schemes.
The completion of works at 2 Charlotte Place follows Kingsbridge’s recent £10.95m acquisition of a prime office building in the heart of Guildford Town Centre, with plans for an extensive refurbishment to a Grade A standard.
