New light industrial units are to be developed on Colwick Industrial Estate in Nottingham following the sale of a half-acre site by private clients of NG Chartered Surveyors.
The land on Private Road Number 5 was previously home to an extremely dilapidated single storey office building.
Andrew Cooper, the site’s new owner, intends to demolish the existing building and develop a terrace of small workshop units.
Jonathon Seddon of NG Chartered Surveyors who handled the sale said: “It was apparent when we were first appointed that the site would generate a good level of interest and that has proven to be the case.
“What has been telling is the number of parties who took a look at the property when it first came to market but who only submitted their offers once we had agreed the sale.
“This is a classic case of fortune favouring the brave and I’m delighted that Andrew came forward and moved the sale swiftly through to completion.
“I think the new units will be well received by the market given the paucity of good quality stock in the city and this development is something I will be helping him with.”
The site’s vendor, Neil McHugh said he was pleased with the service provided by Jonathon at NG.
He added: “He has achieved a great result and I wish Andrew Cooper all the very best with his plans for the site in the future.”
A one acre site nearby which was under offer has recently become available again and NG is recommending that interested parties come forward sooner rather than later.
