Savills, on behalf of St John’s College Oxford, has secured a number of deals on Beaumont Street to occupiers including White & Black Legal LLP and Oriel Square.
Number 16, which comprises 2,409 sq ft (223 sq m) of office space, has been let to White & Black Legal on a new eight-year lease, subject to the completion of comprehensive refurbishment works that are currently underway.
Subsequently, number 29 has been let to Oriel Square who has agreed to a new three-year lease for 1,088 sq ft (101 sq m) on the lower ground and first floor of the building. Having recently become available, the publisher is now also under offer on the third floor for an additional 507 sq ft (47 sq m).
This follows a deal earlier this year at number 17 to Cambridge Quantum Computing, who agreed to a new 12-year lease.
At present, number 25 remains under offer, whilst number 26, which totals 1,953 sq ft (181 sq m), remains available to let at a starting quoting rent of £35 per sq ft (£376 per sq m). The space can be acquired either in its current condition or refurbished.
Sophie Holder, surveyor in the business space team at Savills Oxford, comments: “Situated in one of Oxford’s principle commercial locations, Beaumont Street offers attractive, newly refurbished office accommodation with period features and outside space which remains very popular with occupiers. St John’s has successfully capitalised on the demand for high quality space and as a result has been able to secure premium rents. Looking ahead, we anticipate strong interest in number 26 from firms looking for city centre premises with proximity to key technology and life science businesses.”
