A 125,000 sq ft warehouse unit on the M1 corridor at Barnsley sold to Combined Independents (Holdings) Ltd (CIH), part of Euronics, Europe’s largest electrical buying organisation, will create up to 70 jobs.
Maple 125 at J36 of the M1 was speculatively developed in conjunction with Rula Developments with the support of Enterprising Barnsley and finished to an impressive specification including 12m eaves, a 50m yard, 12 dock level loading doors, two ground level loading doors, 23 HGV spaces, 80 car parking spaces, fitted office accommodation and up to 1MVA power supply.
CIH, a national group of independent retailers, which brings innovative electrical products to consumers via an omni-channel approach, acquired the site from Bramall Properties.
The group identified South Yorkshire as an ideal position to relocate and expand their distribution network, which is set to see between 60-70 new jobs for Barnsley.

“It gives us exactly what we need as a business. We now have access to purpose-built, high-quality space in the right location to buy and hold more stock of our key product lines. This will help CIH members serve their customers in the right way, with speed, efficiency and to the highest possible standard.”

The site benefits from immediate access to the M1 Motorway at Junction 36, approximately 1 mile to the East. The M18, A1 (M) and M62 are also easily accessible.
