The latest leisure attraction at The Venue Leisure Park at Cribbs Causeway has opened its doors to the public.
Planet Ice Bristol, the first indoor ice rink for Bristol and South Gloucestershire since the Frogmore Street rink closed back in 2012, is now open for public skating, and hosted its first ice hockey match at the weekend.
David Mace, managing director of Baylis Estates, the developer behind the Venue Leisure Park, was invited onto the ice to cut a ribbon at the start of the ice hockey match, which Bristol Pitbulls went on to win 6-1 against Romford.
As part of a phased opening, facilities at the 45,000 sq ft rink continue to be unveiled, soon to open will be the café and bar in the main foyer birthday party suites, parents comfort zone, and plans are also underway for Planet Ice’s first permanent roller rink. Planet Ice is the UK’s largest ice rink operator.
David Mace says, “Part of our multi-million pound development at The Venue Leisure Park, Planet Ice Bristol is a welcome addition to the already impressive array of neighbouring leisure activities at Cribbs Causeway including Hollywood Bowl and the Vue Cinema as well as Air Hop, Wild Place, and The Wave surfing lagoon close by.”
Baylis Estates new 12 acre mixed use leisure and retail extension to The Venue Leisure Park, now home to Planet Ice Bristol, continues to take shape, with the 71,000 sq ft Jaguar Land Rover Showroom and Costa Coffee Drive-Thru both complete.
