Ruddington residents will be able to shop local at a new SPAR store, which opened its doors earlier this year (9 July) following a deal completed with the Hamilton Development Group by Innes England to secure a new tenant for the premises.
A franchisee from the Dutch retailer SPAR, the world’s largest international food retail chain with more than 12,000 stores in 40 countries, has taken over the former Sainsbury’s Local on Wilford Road
Matt Hannah, managing director at Innes England, worked closely with the property’s asset manager Simon Bradley & Co to agree a new 20-year lease for the 3,881 sq ft building, which will provide residents with fresh food, local produce and everyday essentials.
Matt said: “Our professional services team valued the premises previously and the client returned to ask us to secure a new tenant. We are delighted to secure a new tenant, bringing a strong brand in SPAR to Ruddington.”
Simon Shaer, from Simon Bradley & Co, said: “We wanted to find a tenant which added to the local community and so we are delighted to secure Mr Devabhai, an experienced retailer, under the international SPAR brand.”
Ram Devabhai, store manager at SPAR, said: “We are really excited to have finally been able to open up our doors in Ruddington. We are so looking forward to serving the local community and welcoming customers to experience our new SPAR store. We will be providing fresh food and the highest quality local products and we have designed the store to provide customers with a safe, easy and enjoyable shopping experience to suit everyone.
“We would like to thank everybody for welcoming us to Ruddington village and we can’t wait to start getting to know the local community.”
