Colliers has announced the evolution of its Retail Strategy & Analytics team following the hire of directors Paul Matthews and Paddy Gamble from Javelin Group, the retail strategy arm of Accenture.
Paul and Paddy will join the Colliers Retail team as joint co-heads and will oversee the data and analytics delivery to clients on an impartial, independent basis whilst still being a crucial part of the firm’s retail offering. Drawing from a range of data – both sourced and proprietary – the Retail Strategy & Analytics team will work with landlords and occupiers to understand the true role and value of stores. This looks beyond just bricks and mortar, using place, catchment and channel spend, amongst other measurables, to provide data-driven location analysis and investment support.
Paul Souber, Co-Head of UK and EMEA Retail at Colliers, commented: “Paul and Paddy joining the team allows us to provide our clients with the most forward-looking data and strategy in the industry. Through their work at Accenture, they have built up an enviable reputation for being indispensable to both retailers and landlords. As the retail sector rebuilds following the pandemic and consumer behaviour continues to shift, insights into catchments, demographics, location and spend will be even more important for our clients.”
Paul Matthews added: “Joining Colliers is an exciting new step for us and will provide an opportunity for us to combine our deep location analytics experience, with the wider real estate market expertise of the Colliers team.”
Paddy Gamble said: “As e-commerce and changing consumer behaviour continues to shape retail, both owners and occupiers will need an understanding of the sector that goes beyond the physical store. We look forward to hitting the ground running and working with clients to create the best retail strategy to accelerate their success.”
