Railpen and Wrenbridge have announced the signing of a major new occupier, Getir, the ultra-fast grocery delivery pioneer, at its industrial estate Waltham X in Waltham Cross, London. Getir will be taking occupancy of three units totalling 110,925 sq ft at the site.
Waltham X is a new, Grade A, sustainable warehouse scheme comprising six high specification units. Railpen purchased and speculatively developed the site alongside development partner Wrenbridge. The development was completed in June this year. The site benefits from close proximity to major roadways, including the M25, A10 and M11, and is immediately adjacent to Waltham Cross station, which has regular services to Central London.
Alastair Dawson, Senior Asset Manager at Railpen, commented on the signing: “The signing of Getir for such a significant proportion of Waltham X demonstrates the quality of product that we have successfully delivered here in a premier location.
“This letting will provide a secure income stream for the fund and enable us to pay our 500,000 members pensions securely, affordably and sustainably.”
Jeff Wilson, Director at Wrenbridge, commented: “Waltham X is a brilliant location for logistics and industrial tenants, as evidenced by Getir taking up such considerable space. With demand for logistics and warehouse space soaring, we expect considerable interest in the remaining units.”
Additionally, Railpen and Wrenbridge have announced further success at their Dartford X development where Leathams has pre-let 30,000 sq ft of the recently completed 185,000 sq ft, 5 unit scheme. The four remaining Units range from 13,000-75,000 sq ft.
Waltham X and Dartford X are owned and managed by Railpen, the investment manager for the £35bn Railways Pension Scheme.
CBRE, Avison Young and Montagu Evans represented Railpen/Wrenbridge.
