Acting on behalf of RS Bird Ltd, property consultants Alder King have secured the letting of Unit 1 at the new Birds Lane retail development in Cowbridge, near Cardiff to the fashion retailer Fat Face.
The clothing chain is the first non-food retailer to sign up to the new scheme which is anchored by Waitrose who opened its doors to the public on 1 November. Fat Face has taken 2,153 sq ft (200 sq m) on a new 10 year lease at an undisclosed rent.
The Birds Lane development is situated just off the High Street in Cowbridge, an affluent historic market town 10 miles west of Cardiff. Alder King, which has provided development consultancy, planning, project management and retail agency services to RS Bird throughout the development life cycle, is marketing the three remaining retail units each comprising 1,354 sq ft (125.8 sq m).
Charles Russell-Smith, head of Alder King’s retail agency team says: “The completion of Birds Lane and the opening of Waitrose and Fat Face will further enhance the already vibrant retail mix in Cowbridge. Birds Lane is a high profile development and there is good interest in the remaining three units.”
