Luxury fashion retailer FLANNELS will become the latest high-profile arrival at The Liberty Shopping Centre in Romford, which is managed by Global Mutual, after signing a new 15-year lease for an 11,564 sq ft unit.
The new FLANNELS unit, which is set to open in early 2022, will bring an impressive offering of luxury, contemporary and emerging fashion brands to the centre.
Fraser Group’s decision to open a new store in Romford follows a busy summer of leasing activity in which popular Swedish fashion retailer H&M also agreed to extend its stay at The Liberty Shopping Centre by a further 10 years in a major vote of confidence for the East London retail hotspot. Under the new arrangement, the current 24,000 sq ft H&M store will be given a full revamp and refurbishment, with work now underway.
The Liberty Shopping Centre has also expanded its retail and leisure offer, concluding deals with eight operators for a combined total of 22,594 sq ft. The new arrivals, which span a variety of sectors including fashion, food and beverage, and health and beauty, represent a welcome addition to the Liberty Shopping Centre occupier line-up, helping to broaden its appeal to shoppers by catering to a wider range of wants and needs.
Steven Gray, Head of European retail asset management at Global Mutual, which manages the centre, said: “This latest round of lettings highlights the appeal of our centre to both independent and international retailers, who recognise the value of what we can offer as a shopping destination. It is hugely encouraging to see major retailers like Frasers Group and H&M investing in their physical presence within our centre, which we believe will have a positive ripple effect for all our retailers”.
