ICAEW visits HB&O

A leading industry body has paid a visit to the region to discuss developments and share information relating to the accountancy profession.

Financial experts  (HB&O) hosted a working lunch at its Leamington headquarters for the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).

ICAEW is a professional membership organisation, supporting over 138,000 chartered accountants around the world. It aims to provide insight and leadership to the global accountancy and finance profession through its technical knowledge, skills and expertise.

The lunch kicked-off a wider visit to the West Midlands area which saw ICAEW representatives visit Lloyds Pharmacy in Walsgrave, Coventry and the Mercure Brandon Hotel, in Brandon.

During the working lunch at HB&O, Martyn Jones, deputy president of the ICAEW, shared his experiences – including over 30 years working with businesses of all sizes as well as with the public and third sector – with those in attendance.

Mark Ashfield, director at HB&O and president of the Warwickshire Society of Chartered Accountants, said: “We were delighted to host the ICAEW and to hear what Martyn had to say.

“He has huge experience of the industry and to hear him share his knowledge first-hand was a really useful exercise for those in attendance.

“It was a fantastic event and we are sure that everyone who took the time to attend will have been pleased they did so.”
