CBRE Global Investors’ West Yorkshire speculative industrial development has reached a key construction milestone with the topping out ceremony, as work progresses to deliver over 70,000 sq ft of new space to the constricted regional pipeline.
Latitude is a two-unit industrial warehouse scheme at Junction 31 of the M62 in Normanton, West Yorkshire being developed by Wilton Developments and delivered by CBRE Global Investors.
The units comprising 43,000 sq ft and 34,500 sq ft are now well underway with construction being undertaken by Leeds-based contractor Castlehouse Construction.
The new units are being developed to address the chronic shortages of quality, new-build industrial and warehouse space across Yorkshire, which continues to be a challenge for occupiers in the thriving industrial sector who are seeking modern space in which to relocate or expand.
With the Latitude units set to achieve practical completion in Q1 2022, joint agents CBRE and Carter Towler are in discussions with interested parties.
Jason Stowe Managing Director of Wilton Developments said;
“We are pleased to reach this construction milestone at Latitude. The development is on track for its completion in early 2022 and we are already handling significant interest in the units. Identifying key sites such as this and unlocking its potential will enable the regional logistics sector to continue to thrive.”
Mike Baugh, Senior Director at CBRE Leeds, said;
“Latitude has all the key attributes that occupiers are seeking. The location provides immediate access to the M62 and is in the heart of the distribution network and the quality meets all the expectations of modern space. With shortages well documented across the region we are already handling strong interest in these units.”
