The St David’s Partnership, owners of St David’s in Cardiff, one of the UK’s premier retail and leisure destinations, has announced the launch of John Lewis’ new pop-up showroom experience, ANYDAY.
Only the second of its kind in the UK, the store showcases ANYDAY, the new own brand range from John Lewis, with an aspiration to remodel and transform consumer perceptions around the affordability of stylish homewares. The 4,277 sq ft unit, situated on the Lower Grand Arcade, adjacent to Disney, Sports Direct, and Lego, will be in place until mid-October.
The move to create a temporary showroom comes after considerable success with the ‘Test & Learn’ exhibition spaces, launched by John Lewis Cardiff to feature their new ANYDAY own brand earlier this summer in the Lower Mall at St. David’s. John Lewis is looking to build the profile of its ‘home’ assortment range, with the increasing importance of creating liveable and workable spaces at home featuring stylish and affordable designs.
The St David’s store highlights ANYDAY’s modern living designs, focusing on showcasing individual items and room sets in an experiential way. Customers will walk through the spaces to get a feel of the different styles and layouts, whilst also having the opportunity to engage with local John Lewis Partners, before going to the nearby John Lewis to make any purchases.
Commenting on behalf of the St David’s partnership, Russell Loveland, Senior Portfolio Director for Landsec, said: “John Lewis is a household name, consistently recognised for its high calibre products. We are excited that St David’s has been selected for this new style retail experience, putting us at the forefront of changing perceptions around the brand’s homeware products. The introduction of ANYDAY and this experiential retail demonstrates the brand’s expanding presence within Cardiff, and the city’s relevance as a test-bed for new concepts in retail.”
Cliff Vanstone, Head of Branch at John Lewis, Cardiff added: “John Lewis is a mainstay of St David’s Cardiff – it’s one of our largest stores in the UK. We are incredibly excited to collaborate on this joint initiative with St David’s, as we look to diversify the John Lewis experience, and showcase our affordable but high-quality and stylish homeware range. The ANYDAY pop-up will help us engage with our customers in a new way, and we’ve already seen a great response only a short time from opening.”
The ANYDAY store has experienced a strong footfall and positive feedback from consumers with over 2,000 visits already to the pop-up store since it launched on 30 July.
This news follows the recent openings for other experiential stores at St David’s, including a Welsh debut for Sky and a brand-new store for lifestyle brand BoConcept.
