A leading electrical retailer has expanded its operation within Stourport-on-Severn, having taken on additional warehouse space at a popular industrial estate to help fulfil an increasing number of online orders.
The Wash House Limited, an established household appliance retailer with three showrooms located throughout the region, has signed a six-year lease on a 5,500 sq ft warehouse with additional office and storage space at Wilden Industrial Estate, where its existing Stourport showroom is already located.

“During the country’s three national lockdowns, the click and collect aspect of the company’s business model increased dramatically. In order to cope with the demand for the service, and to ensure there is sufficient stock availability to fulfil the orders, the business taken on Unit 18 at the estate.
“The inevitable surge in online shopping has led to increased demand for warehouse space across the UK, and the pressure on the industrial property sector throughout the Midlands in particular, thanks to its nationwide access links, has been particularly high, with ourselves and our colleagues at Harris Lamb continuing to receive a significant number of enquiries from retailers regarding their additional storage requirements,” he added.
