Parkway Industrial Estate in Birmingham has become the latest within the region to reach fully let status as demand for warehousing in the Midlands continues to soar.
The 90,000 sq ft industrial park on Heneage Street is the latest in Birmingham to reach full capacity after the final unit at the estate, a 6,000 sq ft warehouse, was let to BEW Electrical Distributors Ltd on a 10-year lease.
Unit 10 was snapped up by the wholesaler and distribution specialist thanks to its prime location in the city and proximity to the UK motorway network.
Tom Morley, of Harris Lamb, who oversaw the letting, said: “BEW Electrical Distributors has a nationwide network of trade counter outlets. To serve their growing customer base, they were looking for a more modern warehouse where they could utilise the space available more efficiently than their current premises.
“Parkway Industrial Estate offered the ideal solution: fronting the Birmingham Middle Ring Road and located just 1.5 miles from Junction 6 of the M6, the warehouse has ancillary office facilities and benefits from loading access and dedicated parking.
“It is also located outside of Birmingham’s Clean Air Zone, a factor that we anticipate becoming important to distribution firms in the coming months, and one that could put additional pressure on the already short supply of industrial property within the region,” he said.
“Our teams are continually working with landlords and developers to identify opportunities across the region in order to provide further industrial solutions as demand continues to accelerate,” he added.
