A Surrey-based business that manufactures a treatment for excavated spoil has established its first Welsh manufacturing facility in Caldicot following a double unit deal negotiated by Alder King, M4 Property Consultants and First Investments Ltd, the lettings and managing agents.
SMR (UK) Ltd has leased 9,263 sq ft (860.55 sq m) of space at Units 10a and 10b Norman Way at Severnbridge Industrial Estate in Caldicot on a five year lease. Alder King and M4 Property Consultants acted on behalf of the landlord Lake Pine Ltd.
SMR’s Soil Stabiliser transforms excavated spoil into material that can be used as base layers in road building. This highly versatile product is used throughout the construction industry, treating thousands of tonnes of excavated spoil each week. So far, in excess of five million tones have been fully recovered and re-used successfully.
Keri Harding-Jones of Alder King says: “SMR was looking for a well-established business location in which to open its first Welsh operation. This double industrial unit met its requirements in terms of quality of space and location.”
