Saracen Interiors has completed a £250,000 office fit out and refurbishment project at an international shipping company’s prestigious offices in Surrey. Work began at the beginning of August 2012 and was completed by the end of September 2012. It covered 8,000 square feet of open plan office space with 13 meeting rooms and one board room.
This fast-track project included the placing of acoustic bats above the ceilings, the installation of 100mm depth partitioning in the directors’ rooms, meeting rooms and board room and 75mm depth elsewhere, the repositioning of lighting to complement alterations made to the individual offices and open plan area and the installation of a full-height, removable, folding partition supplied by Saracen.
The project was one of Saracen’s most sustainable of 2012 as it involved reusing the original oak doors and frames, the matching of existing ceiling tiles and carpet tiles and reusing existing heating and cooling systems. All sustainable activity was completed to complement the new layout.
Joint managing director of Saracen Interiors, Michael Page comments: “We were delighted to be involved with a project that had sustainability at its heart. It was a great opportunity for us to problem solve for the client and come up with solutions that would support its bid for the most sustainable outcome while not compromising on the overall look and finish of the job.”
Saracen initially launched as an office furniture manufacturer and retail outlet in 1985. Although the company is now known as a one-stop design and fit out provider, it still borrows from its background in office furniture installation when addressing the needs of its commercial customer base. It is renowned for its in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the commercial property market and now undertakes facilities management solutions and office churn for almost three quarters of its fit out clients, firmly positioning the office interiors specialist as a full service concern.
Saracen’s recent clients include TE Connectivity, Aspect Property Group, Flight Safety, CH2M Hill, Countrywide PLC, Knight Frank, Mitie Engineering, Pizza Hut, Redrow, Soccer World, Thames Water, Toshiba, Trident Trust, Viatel, BAE Systems, Sue Ryder Care, Sandhurst School, North Surrey Primary Care Trust, Royal Berkshire and Battle Hospital NHS Trust.
