A plumbing apprentice with Birmingham-based JS Wright is one of the hottest in the business – and that’s official.
Scott Ramm has been awarded the BEST Apprentice Plumber of 2012 Award for London and the South East for his exceptional skills and competence.
The 21-year old, who lives in Romford, received his trophy in a ceremony at the Dickens Inn at St Katherine’s Dock in London in the presence of his managers, directors and family.
It was a double boost for Scott who had been presented with this year’s J S Wright Apprentice of the Year Award only weeks earlier.
This is the first time that J S Wright has been honoured with such an award in London, where residential projects account for over 70 per cent of its business.
One of six apprentices working from the company’s offices at Trafalgar Square, Scott has been supported by his tutor Phil Kershaw of Barking & Dagenham College, BEST Training Adviser Cathy Laine, and the J S Wright Academy.
Scott, who joined J S Wright in 2011, has worked on site at a residential scheme at Silver Street in Enfield and is currently involved in the fit out of a major new homes development at Central Square near the Barbican. He has also gained an NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Plumbing and is aiming to achieve Level 3.
Paul Millington, Leader of the JSW Academy, said: “Scott is a credit to the company. He is hard working, enthusiastic and reliable, gives tool box talks to operatives on site, and mentors new starters in our Academy.”
Marcus Aniol, Managing Director of J S Wright, added: “The award is excellent news for the company as we look to boost our commitment to the South East with the best trained workforce in the business. Scott is one of a great bunch of apprentices that are contributing to our success in the region.”
