Skinny Drinks Group has upsized to a 42,802 sq ft unit at Mersey Reach in Liverpool, from its previous 12,035 sq ft unit at the Northwood Urban Logistics scheme. The new build detached unit with a secure yard will be used to store and manufacture low calorie drinks. A ten-year lease has been signed.
As part of the agreement Skinny Drinks Group has surrendered Unit 3, making it the only vacant unit within the first phase of Mersey Reach, which is now at 90% occupancy.
Mersey Reach is accessed from Dunnings Bridge Road and is within 1 mile of the M57/M58 Switch Island interchange, which provides easy access to wider regional and national motorway network. Other occupiers on site include Selco Builders Merchants, Hardy and Euro Garages.
Environmentally friendly technologies have been incorporated into all areas of the development. These green initiatives will include low air permeability, 15% warehouse roof lights increasing natural lighting design, high performance insulated cladding and roof materials, and electric vehicle charging points.
Ian Minton, co-founder and CEO at Skinny Drinks Group said: “Due to our business facing a period of unprecedented growth, we have made the decision to relocate to bigger manufacturing premises in order to accommodate additional machinery and processing equipment. Mersey Reach provides high-quality new build accommodation for our drinks manufacturing business in a high-profile location, which is well connected by road for our customers and staff. We are very pleased that we were able to upsize and remain as a tenant on Mersey Reach, which works very well for our business.”
Richard Johnson, director UK industrial and logistics at JLL, added: “Skinny Drinks Group’s upsizing at this location reflects the rising demand for Grade A space in Merseyside from SME occupiers. It is great to see a local business trading well with their healthy drinks range and that we were able to accommodate their expansion plans at Mersey Reach.”
