A Staffordshire creative firm is celebrating after winning the second phase of a contract to bring some Hollywood glamour to the Black Country.
Earlier this year, Rugeley-based GMP Design clinched a contract to revamp the former Que Pasa site in Stourbridge on behalf of Atmosphere Bars and Clubs. Now the firm has been drafted in for phase two of the contract.
The new bar and club venue – renamed Chicago’s – has had a major makeover, using Hollywood glamour as its theme. The refit contract was worth nearly a quarter of a million pounds. Now GMP is expanding the capacity of the club with an upstairs bar, lounge and dining area.
GMP’s original re-design involved transforming the 450-capacity bar with fibre-optic lighting, an LED light ceiling over the dance floor and new bar and seating booths. The new contract adds another 100 to the club’s capacity, continuing the Hollywood glamour theme.
Lead designer Darren Aspinall said, “The original design and refit have given Stourbridge a great nightclub facility which is something different for the area. We are delighted to have been brought in again for phase two of the club’s transformation.”
The Stourbridge contract is one of several which GMP has carried out for Atmosphere Bars and Clubs, which is one of the UK’s fastest growing leisure companies. It was set up in 2010 and already runs 25 venues throughout England and Wales.
