A brand-new builders’ merchant has opened its doors at Minworth Trade and Industrial Park following a £1.5 million design and build project.
Harris Lamb’s Building Consultancy team were responsible for overseeing the construction and fit-out of the trade counter unit on the trade park on behalf of landlords CBRE Global Investors further to a pre-let to MKM Building Supplies.
Further to fit-out of the 12,500 sq ft unit, MKM Building Supplies officially opened for trading on 1st June.
Paul Wells, Director of the department, said: “This was a significant project, particularly in light of the challenges that the last 12 months have presented to both construction work and the supply chain.
“We were tasked with overseeing this design and build project to meet the specifications agreed between MKM Building Supplies and CBRE, and despite the obstacles the Pandemic presented us with, the completed project came in under the specified budget and met with the new occupier’s requirements.
“This was a 28-week project which saw us work with a select group of partners to complete a high-specification trade counter unit of 12,500 sq ft, constructed to a BREEAM Very Good sustainable standard within a £1,564,000 budget.
“With fit-out now complete, MKM has commenced trading at Minworth, which has a reputation of one of the region’s premier trade parks, and we are delighted to see businesses thriving at the site. This is one of a number of projects our team has been retained to oversee over the last year, with a series of high-specification refurbishments at existing units at the park also being undertaken,” he said.
