The hotels and hospitality team at Vickery Holman have handled the successful sale of the Beachfield Hotel in Penzance on behalf of the owners. This classic Victorian seafront hotel has 18 en-suite bedrooms and has been sold to an existing operator.
‘The hotel dates back to the 1860s and stands on grounds that were once fields and dunes where fisherman dried their nets. The views across Mounts Bay are wonderful. We were very pleased to handle this sale and to know that the hotel will be in good hands with the new owners.’ Said Mike Easton, Head of Hotels & Hospitality at Vickery Holman. ‘Penzance is going through a renaissance at the moment with some exciting initiatives in the area and the keen interest in Cornwall continuing.’
‘We are seeing significant interest in hotels across the South West and we are keen to speak with owners who are considering a move in the near future. We have parties interested in buying hotels and pubs on our books but demand is out-stripping supply at the moment’. Added Alan Treloar, Head of Agency at Vickery Holman.
‘It’s an interesting time as we wait to see how owners of businesses in the hospitality sector react over the next few months having ridden the pandemic period this far. Many will be looking forward to a bumper staycation season and even postpone a decision to market their property whereas others will still be looking to sell as the time is right for them to move on. For those who want to sell now, the interest in leisure and hospitality businesses is very strong.’
