Steelwork is now rising on an 80,500 sq ft HQ building for multiple services provider, USL at the successful Enterprise 36 industrial park in Tankersley, South Yorkshire. CBRE and CPP are joint agents on the scheme.
Stainforth Construction Ltd was appointed by Barmston Developments, a subsidiary of Leeds based Wilton Developments, to construct the final unit at Enterprise 36 which is a strategically located, four-unit industrial development in Tankersley, just one mile from J36 of the M1 motorway. The final unit will create new headquarters for USL Group who provide services to the telecoms, utilities, construction and energy sectors.
With deals completed by Barmston Developments last year on both Unit 3 and Unit 4, there remains just one warehouse available at the scheme. Unit 2, which comprises 77,804 sq ft, has been speculatively developed to a high specification and is available for immediate occupation having recently achieved practical completion.
The successful Enterprise 36 development is being supported by Barnsley Council’s Enterprising Barnsley investment team and its nationally recognised BMBC Property Investment Fund.
Jason Stowe Managing Director of Wilton Developments said;
“We are delighted to reach this construction milestone to build a new HQ building for industry leaders, USL Group and we look forward to handing over the building later this year. With three out of the four plots now taken at the scheme, Enterprise 36 has proved an attractive proposition for occupiers seeking high quality industrial space which offers a range of design and build options. Unit 2 remains available at the scheme and is ready for immediate occupation through our agents.”
Mike Baugh, Senior Director at CBRE Leeds, said;
“We are pleased to confirm USL Group as the third occupier at Enterprise 36. We have received a lot of interest in the building thanks to its strategic position close to the M1 and the flexibility sought by occupiers to create a space designed to meet their bespoke needs. With a diminishing supply of high quality, well located units within South Yorkshire, we anticipate high interest in the remaining Unit 2.”
Cllr Tim Cheetham, Cabinet Spokesperson for Regeneration and Culture, said: “Enterprise 36 has been a real success and demonstrates again what we have achieved by working in partnership with the private sector.
“We’re absolutely delighted that the company has chosen to expand to Barnsley and look forward to supporting their future growth. Their decision to move to the borough is great news, and we welcome the new opportunities this will bring to our local jobs market and Barnsley’s economy.”
“Our Enterprising Barnsley team will continue to assist them and help access any business support they need as always.”
Tim Whittaker, Vice President of the USL Group, said; “We are excited to see the progress on our new 80,500sqft. unit at the Enterprise 36 industrial park in Tankersley. The building will provide both USL Ekspan and USL Speciality Products with new state of the art manufacturing, production and warehousing facilities, as well plenty of office space for our existing teams and future expansion plans”
