Summerfield Developments has secured planning permission for a new 12,402 sq ft industrial building at Westpark 26, its 40 acre mixed use business park just off junction 26 of the M5 at Chelston, Wellington.
The new Block C will be sub-divided into four trade counter units. One unit is already let to ToolStation and a second is under offer to another national operator.
The two remaining units C3 and C4 provide 2,572 and 2,865 sq ft respectively and are available individually or combined. Each unit has a minimum eaves height of 6.5m, electric loading doors, designed to work for mezzanine accommodation and generous, dedicated car parking.
Construction on Block C will get underway in July 2021, with completion expected in December 2021.
Property consultants Alder King and JLL are also reporting good interest in a second multi-unit trade counter building of approximately 10,288 sq ft (Block D), split into four units of 2,572 sq ft each and a neighbouring parcel of land for a proposed building of 3,750 sq ft (Plot E) opposite the entrance to the business park.
Ben Trickey of Summerfield said: “The grant of planning approval means we can now press on with construction of Block C ready to accommodate ToolStation and other interested trade counter occupiers. Given the interest in this block, Summerfield has submitted a planning application for Block D as well.”
Andrew Maynard of Alder King said: “The South West industrial/logistics sector is crying out for modern well-located space. Summerfield’s proactive approach in addressing this shortage will help facilitate business growth and bring new employment to this part of the county and is to be applauded.”
