Winchester based Gentian Developments has successfully completed the purchase of substantial retail premises on the city’s High Street. The prominently located property is situated on the corner of 7-8 High Street and 50 Colebrook Street, consisting of three well-configured retail units totalling 21,000 sq ft.
Two of the units front onto the High Street. One is Rick Stein’s the popular fish and seafood restaurant. The other is occupied by independent home and haberdashery chain, Closs & Hamblin.
The third unit fronts on to Colebrook Street and was previously occupied by hairdressing chain Regis.
Future development plans for the newly purchased property include re-modelling the ground floor areas and converting the upper floors into apartments.
Commenting on the transaction, Nick Hanson, Director of Gentian Developments said: “This acquisition is a significant investment for us. It demonstrates our confidence in the future of Winchester’s retail offering and our continued commitment to the city.’
