Forrester, advised by Gerald Eve, has signed for 18,000 sq ft at 61 Aldwych for its new London headquarters, relocating from its current office at 265 Strand.
The US market research and advisory firm has taken the eighth floor space from landlord Great Fortune Property on a new ten-year lease. In addition to advising on the new lease, Gerald Eve is project managing the fit-out for Forrester’s new headquarters and handling lease exit negotiations from its existing office.
Following an extensive refurbishment of the building, Great Fortune Property has successfully let the top two floors of 61 Aldwych, with several floors remaining. Given the restrictions in place during the search, all inspections were conducted via video conferencing, with Forrester able to ‘walk the building’ virtually, with such initiatives crucial in shortlisting and making a final decision.
Patrick Ryan, partner at Gerald Eve, said: “Newly refurbished and in a prime situation on the corner of Aldwych and Kingsway, 61 Aldwych is an ideal location for Forrester’s new London headquarters. It is particularly pleasing to advise on all aspects of its move, overseeing the fit-out and conducting exit negotiations as well as representing the firm on its new ten-year lease. The use of virtual tours was crucial in this process, and we would anticipate tenants adopting this technology to make their searches more efficient even when Covid-19 restrictions are relaxed.”
Gerald Eve represented Forrester, while JLL and BH2 acted for Great Fortune Property.
