Integrated marketing communications agency, Carswell Gould, collected its award on Thursday for ‘Best Marketing Campaign of the Year’ in the South East regional heats of the Chamber of Commerce Awards 2012.
Creative Director Ed Gould was presented with the award on Thursday (November 8) by John Longworth, Director General, British Chambers of Commerce at the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce Annual Conference at Portsmouth Guildhall.
Carswell Gould beat off rivals from across the South of England to secure the Marketing Campaign of the Year Award (sponsored by the RBS Group), impressing judges with its ability to raise awareness to RIBs through the GORE-TEX® Arctic Challenge promoted through a mix of high profile PR, web and social media work.
The challenge saw eight people, including Pete Goss MBE and Ed Gould, travel some 1,000 miles from Scotland to the Arctic Circle in two small RIBs (Rigid Inflatable Boats), with the aim of promoting their use to a wider audience, proving their capabilities and encouraging people to get on the water.
The challenge reached millions of people online and benefitted from media coverage across the world.
Carswell Gould, a member of the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce, will now go forward to compete for the national title in its category and the chance to win the ‘Outstanding Business Achievement’ award and a £25,000 cash prize, courtesy of the RBS Group.
Collecting the regional award yesterday Ed Gould said: “It is testament to the team’s hard work that our integrated communications campaign has been deemed the best in the entire South East. We are now looking forward to competing against the top campaigns in the other regions and hope to secure the national award.”
