Having seen substantial growth in 2012, Stratford-upon-Avon based DCS Europe has signed a lease for a 75,000 sq ft warehouse at St. Modwen’s Long Marston Business Park.
This will increase the space available to DCS Central Distribution by a massive 50 per cent, allowing the ambitious growth plans of DCS to be fulfilled. The company aims to hit £200 million sales by the end of 2015 with the anticipated creation of an additional 30 jobs. DCS is well on track with sales this year, projecting £150 million.
Denys Shortt, Founder and CEO of DCS, commented: “A sign of business success is when orders exceed the capacity of the site you own. The extra warehouse at Long Marston Business Park is welcomed and will provide much needed additional space. We will be investing over £250,000 in the Long Marston site with racking and forklift trucks and expect to create 10 more jobs.”
He added: “We recently moved to Barclays Bank and their extra funding has really accelerated our growth. It proves there is business out there to be had and with the right bank supporting you it is possible to go and win it.”
Nadhim Zahawi, MP for Stratford on Avon, said: “I am delighted to hear that DCS is filling some of the space that JohnsonVellen recently vacated. They are a great example of the many entrepreneurial companies in our area that are driving forward the private sector growth our economy needs”.
Jim Quantrill, Retail and Wholesale Relationship Director for Barclays corporate banking division said: “DCS is a tremendous success story with a highly respected management team with drive and vision. Securing the lease on the new warehouse in Long Marston Business Park will enable the business to expand its current storage capacity and is a huge step forward in terms of realising the company’s ambitious growth plans.”
Peter Rudd, Senior Development Surveyor at St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist, added: “We are very pleased to welcome a Stratford-upon-Avon based, high profile company like DCS to Long Marston Business Park. We are particularly pleased to have completed the deal so quickly after JohnsonVellen vacated the site just eight weeks ago. The speed of the letting pays testament to the quality and location of the business park.”
