Trebor Developments and partner, Hillwood, have agreed lease terms with Oxford Instruments Nanotechnology Tools Limited for a new, bespoke, manufacturing and office development, which will be located at Central Approach site, Bristol.
Planning consent has now been granted by the local authority for the development, which will commence on site in March 2021 providing high quality and high-tech accommodation, extending to 107,660 sq ft and will be complemented by an extensive high tech fit out to meet the operator requirements of Oxford Instruments, who will be relocating from their existing site.
Matt Kelly, Managing Director for Plasma Technology Oxford Instruments, commented:
“We continue to grow globally and the demand for our solutions means we have outgrown our site in Yatton. Our new site will be a modern, leading edge Laboratory, Manufacturing and office environment for our colleagues, customers, and collaboration partners. Our staff will have a welcoming environment that supports team working, innovation, training and gives them flexibility. Our customers will have the ability to see our solutions and train in our facility. Our building will also be a base to welcome community groups, such as schools and universities promoting STEM subjects. We will be engaging our teams to create a sustainable, safe building that will ensure we deliver for our customers and everyone working within it.”
James Drew, Development Director for Trebor, on behalf of Trebor/Hillwood, commented:
“We are excited to announce the pre-let deal to Oxford Instruments, which has been concluded during the lockdown period and has involved very close working between Trebor/Hillwood and Oxford Instruments’ team to bring forward a prestigious, high tech and bespoke manufacturing and office facility, located on our Central Approach site, which we acquired in 2019. In addition to Oxford Instruments’ building, we will be developing at the same time a further building of 113,000 sq ft on a speculative basis”.
The second speculative building is available on a leasehold or freehold basis.
