Developer Scarborough Group International (SGI) has let the last remaining large format unit at its 105,000 sq ft Marina Quay retail and leisure park development in Rhyl to B&M.
The discount retailer has agreed terms to occupy the 26,000 sq ft unit on a 10-year lease, leaving just three of the original 11 units remaining.
The deal adds to a strong line-up of brands at the out of town scheme, including Aldi, The Range, Farm Foods and Greggs. A new Costa Coffee drive thru unit has also recently secured planning permission, further complementing the park’s offer.
With the last remaining drive through unit currently under offer, SGI is confident that the retail park will be fully let in the not-too-distant future.
Jack Abou-Jaoude, Development Executive at SGI, said:
“In stark contrast to the national headlines, footfall and trading performance for most of the businesses at Marina Quay has remained strong over the past 12 months, with many of the occupiers falling into the essential retail category.
“B&M will be fantastic addition to the park and, with the remaining units attracting a great deal of interest, we’re confident that it will be fully let in the not-too-distant future.”
Marina Quay is a highly-desirable new retail and leisure development located at the heart of the popular North Wales seaside resort town of Rhyl.
There are currently just three units of between 1,500 and 6,000 sq ft remaining on the park. However, the outline consent provides for a future phase comprising up to 20,000 sq ft of retail space, which SGI may look to develop once the scheme is fully let.
