In a move that is bucking the trend, Power On Connections, the UK’s leading Independent Connection Provider (ICP) for new HV and LV electricity connections, has opened a second London depot, in order to support the delivery of excellent customer service.
Based in Childerditch, the new depot will complement Power On Connections’ existing office at Borehamwood by providing a base for the operational services of the business including project management, logistics and stores for materials. The sales, tendering and design teams will remain at Borehamwood and the two depots will synchronise their activities to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
“In the last 12 months our workload has increased and this has resulted in employing 30 new staff”, explains Manj Thind, commercial manager at Power On Connections. “With a healthy order book in place for 2013, the business is in a stable position and we felt the timing was right to invest in expansion. The new depot was chosen for its location; not only does it provide excellent links with the M25 but it also means the South East team can have an operational base closer to the main hub of work, which is just good practice.”
Power On Connections’ project work in the South East includes an impressive list of hotels, supermarkets, city-living accommodation and commercial developments. The first major project the 12 strong team at the Childerditch depot will undertake involves the installation of a 33kV Primary Substation at a commercial development in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, on behalf of The Berryfields Consortium.
Gary Peters, South East regional manager, will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the new depot. He said: “With our regional project work steadily increasing, we are pleased to announce the official opening of the new depot. From its centralised location, we will now be able to increase our workload across the capital as well as towards Oxford and as far south as Portsmouth. We are confident the new office will ensure we continue to provide the flexible, practical and added-value solutions our clients expect from Power On Connections.”
The Childerditch office has been opened jointly with Power On Connections’ sister company, GTC.
