Hermes Parcelnet has agreed a new 5 year lease on the 16,122 sq ft distribution unit at Riverside Business Park in central Bristol. Hermes operates a last mile delivery operation from the property, servicing the central Bristol area.
This is one of a number of acquisitions for the rapidly expanding parcel delivery firm and is ideally situated in close proximity to residential and commercial areas.
Henry de Teissier, an associate in JLL’s Bristol office said, ‘’We knew this property would be ideal for Hermes, given its location, and suitability as a parcel delivery unit. It took just a week from agreeing terms to handing over keys, which is testament to all those involved. Having already let a unit to Hermes elsewhere in Bristol earlier in 2020, we knew they were on the hunt for further premises. Their expansion and growth typify the boom of the ecommerce sector, as a result of lockdown. It’s no longer just a question of Black Friday and Christmas, the high demand is now seen 365 days a year and there is no sign of it slowing down.’’
Rachel Vickers, Estates Surveyor at Hermes said, ‘’The new site provides Hermes with the expansion space required to allow us to continue to meet the unprecedented increase in consumer demand in the local area’’.
JLL acted for the landlord. Hermes were unrepresented.
