Regional commercial construction contractor HGL has been awarded two separate multi-million pound projects in Bristol on behalf of leading supermarket retailer, Lidl UK.
Works began on site earlier this month for the delivery of the global grocery chain’s first Bristol city-centre store, located on Union Street in place of the outgoing H&M unit. The second scheme, an extension to the existing Lidl store in nearby Lawrence Hill, is scheduled to start on site in the coming weeks. Both projects are scheduled for completion this summer.
HGL was chosen for the schemes following the company’s successful delivery of several similar projects across the UK as one of Lidl’s UK construction framework partners. They were last year named one of the supermarket chain’s top construction contractors for health and safety.
The wins add to the ongoing growth of the Bristol-based contractor, who has multiple new build and refurbishment construction projects either underway or recently completed across the country including in Newport, Manchester, Newbury and London.
Managing Director Theo Hartry commented “We are absolutely delighted to be continuing our association with such a high-profile client. We look forward to adding two local projects to our existing portfolio and to continuing our track record in delivering quality buildings with ambitious construction programmes.”
