International independent real estate consultancy, Hollis, has appointed Philip Hirst as its new Head of Schedules of Condition, effective immediately.
With more than 12 years of experience in building surveying services in the commercial property sector, Hirst specialises in dilapidations, project management, due diligence surveys, pre-lease surveys and defect analysis, working with a variety of clients including international property funds, developers and property occupiers.
He joined Hollis in 2008 after graduating from Northumbria University in Building Surveying and qualified as a Chartered Building Surveyor in 2011.
A schedule of condition creates a complete record of the condition of a property and can be used as a benchmark for future assessments and any changes identified. It is normally prepared for legal or contractual reasons under instruction of a landlord, a tenant, a contractor, or a neighbour.
In his new role, Hirst will oversee a team that carries out assessments and delivers suitably detailed schedules of condition to complement lease documents within 24 hours of inspection. Hollis uses mechanical and electrical engineering expertise and the latest technologies, such as laser scanning and drones for high-level surveys, to produce tailored, high-quality reports.
Hirst will also continue to assist in the running of the company’s Newcastle office.
Hirst was shortlisted for the Emerging Property Person of the Year award at the Insider North East Property Awards 2019.
“I’m delighted to have taken on this new role bringing leadership, knowledge and proven know-how to grow our schedules of condition service. I will actively contribute to the development of new technologies and digital processes to ensure Hollis continues to lead from the front in the industry,” says Philip Hirst.
