St. Modwen has secured a deal with Plant-Ex Ingredients that will see it double its occupied space to more than 30,000 sq ft at the developer’s £260m industrial and logistics scheme in Avonmouth, Bristol.
Specialising in natural food ingredient solutions, the international manufacturer has signed a 15-year agreement for more than 18,000 sq ft of additional, high-quality warehouse space at St. Modwen’s flagship South West scheme.
Plant-Ex Ingredients will now occupy three units at the site following its relocation to the park in 2018. The expansion is expected to create 25 jobs in the area.
More than 1m sq ft of industrial and logistics space has been delivered at St. Modwen Park Access 18 to-date and, once complete, the development is expected to have created more than 2,200 jobs.
The scheme already accommodates a wealth of industrial and logistics businesses, including: Ocado Retail’s first ‘mini’ Customer Fulfilment Centre, global courier Hermes Parcelnet Ltd and French car manufacturer Peugeot.
Located off Junction 18 of the M5 and less than 10 miles from Bristol city centre, St. Modwen Park Access 18 is a leading employment scheme in the South West and just a stone’s throw from Avonmouth Docks. The site is easily accessible from nearby residential areas thanks to a bus service that runs adjacent to the site along Kings Weston Lane and features mature landscaping, providing an established environment for staff to work in.
Gemma Butler, Development and Leasing Manager at St. Modwen Industrial & Logistics, said: “Plant-Ex Ingredients’ decision to expand at Access 18 is testament to the quality and versatility of the scheme. St. Modwen sites are specifically designed to cater for business growth, with a variety of unit sizes available. Our customers include some of the industry’s finest and Plant-Ex Ingredients is the latest to be bringing new jobs and increased investment to the region’s economy.”
Thomas Drewett, Director at Plant-Ex Ingredients, added: “Our business has grown exponentially over the last few years, so it was extremely helpful that we were able to expand our floor space here without having to uproot and move. As a global company, we wanted to remain close to the M5 and the Avonmouth Docks. This prime location gives us direct access to some of the major distribution networks in the UK and beyond.”
