Nottinghamshire businesses have joined forces with local charity Basket Brigade Nottingham to source, wrap and deliver 40 hampers of hand-selected gifts for families in need of additional support this year.
Basket Brigade Nottingham, the regional arm of a worldwide charity, donates hampers of essentials, treats, and gifts to local families and individuals who have been nominated by their community.
This year, Nottingham-based engineering consultancy Dice and PR and digital PR agency Cartwright Communications led the cause with their own hampers as well as rallying support from local businesses including Conygar, GT3 Architects, Pulse Consult, Clegg Food Projects, BE Design, Thomas Bow City Asphalt, Leonard Design, First Enterprise – Enterprise Loans, Atkin James, and Influence.
Liz Cartwright, managing director at Cartwright Communications, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to support Basket Brigade and to be able to give something back this Christmas, especially after the devasting impact the pandemic has had on households across the country.
“The fact that so many of our clients have also got on board to donate their time and money to create hampers and support a fantastic charity has also been a real boost and helped to support so many more families this Christmas.”
Wayne Oakes, director at Dice, said: “For most of us, this year has been incredibly difficult, with so many friends and family being affected in one way or another so we think it’s important that local businesses and communities get behind initiatives like this to make sure that no one goes without this Christmas.”
