Leading interior design consultancy Office Principles has announced a series of promotions as part of its ongoing expansion in the Midlands, including the appointment of two joint managing directors.
Gary Tailby and Tina Batham have been promoted to joint managing directors of the regional business they founded less than two years ago.
They have been given a remit to grow the company’s market share, both in the region and nationally, as well as continuing to build a strong customer base, expanding the team and opening new market sectors.
Four additional promotions have been made at Office Principles’ Birmingham office. Pete Crompton has been appointed associate operations director, Julie Hattersley becomes associate design director, and Boyd Hunt and Andy Sandell have been made commercial associate directors. They are complemented by existing design director, Claire Stant.
The move recognises the impact made by the original members of the regional team and is part of Office Principles’ continued investment in its employees’ progress and expertise.
Formed in 2019 by Gary Tailby and Tina Batham, Office Principles’ Birmingham-based team delivers multi-disciplinary design, consultancy and construction solutions across a variety of sectors within the built environment.
The regional business has enjoyed immediate success, with its original team of seven employees delivering £7.5 million of projects in its first year, with a further £12.5 million secured in 2020. Its growth is set to continue in 2021, with 20 significant projects about to go to site or in the pre-construction phase and revenue forecast to hit £17.5 million.
It plans to further expand its regional team to deliver the new projects, employing 18 staff and has recently announced a move to new regional headquarters at Coleshill Manor Office Campus to support its ongoing expansion.
Joint managing director of Office Principles Group, Cyril Parsons said: “Gary and Tina have enjoyed outstanding success since establishing our Birmingham office. They have developed a tremendous team of experts with a great working knowledge of the Midlands and the region’s pattern of commercial growth. We’re confident that we have the right leadership structure and the best team in place to continue to build strong relationships and create outstanding working spaces.”
Gary Tailby said: “I’m very proud of the business that Tina and I have built in the Midlands and have been impressed by the level of support and commitment that is being invested. Our vision has always been to secure new business on a negotiated basis through added value in the design phase of a project, which has proven to be very successful. With the support of a highly skilled team, I am excited about our potential to continue to grow and develop in the years to come.”
Office Principles was established over 30 years ago and has four sites in London, Reading, Manchester and Birmingham. The firm delivers services on behalf of regional clients including Arcadis, Anglian Water, Cooper Parry and Aegon Asset Management.
