Whitehill & Bordon Regeneration Company (WBRC) is pleased to reveal the name, website and the line-up for the shopping, food and leisure offer at The Shed, the new market in Whitehill & Bordon town centre, which is due to open in Easter 2021.
The Shed will be a unique, authentic shared experience in Whitehill & Bordon, offering artisan treats, home cooked meals, arts & crafts, creative workspaces and the best local entertainment. The Shed is already packed with an amazing array of local businesses to shout about.
Already signed up is a juice bar called The Mixing Jug, Thai and Japanese cuisine from Siam Oishi, a bike sale and hire shop Cycle Sphere, an arts & crafts store called Crafty Shed, locally churned desserts from Dylan’s Ice Cream and Mexican street food from Hermanos. On top of that, there’ll be an artisan brewery, a deli shop and a burger joint.
Greg from The Mixing Jug said: “From only offering seasonal trade, our tenancy at The Shed will mean we can trade all year around and we’ll be able to expand our menu and therefore grow our business. The visuals of The Shed look amazing and we’re excited to be part of a unique space which will make Whitehill & Bordon stand out from other local towns.”
Brand new business Siam Oishi is run by Piyawan Mugridge, who is impressed by the “modern and cosy look” of The Shed and looks forward to also being a customer as well as a stallholder. Cycle Sphere owner Simon Bush said he’s looking forward to “more community-based activities” now they’re moving into “the new part of town at the centre of this exciting regeneration development’ and can’t wait for the “summer potential of the inside and outside experience.”
“The Shed will turn Whitehill & Bordon into a destination,” said James and Rupert from Hermanos, “people will have a great reason to come and eat and shop and relax in a nice environment with lots to do. We are excited about becoming part of a local hub of business owners who can come together and trade good food, events and services side by side.”
Martyna Cawdron, Events and Venue Manager for WBRC, said, “units are filling up but there is space for even more. We are still looking for other special tenants to add to the mix, both for long term tenancy and for pop-ups to join regular farmers, produce and craft markets to be held at The Shed. If you’re a local business looking to share your wares, please get in touch on [email protected].”
The Shed is the first part of Whitehill & Bordon Regeneration Company’s vision for the town centre, to create a bold and inviting destination that welcomes innovation and inclusion and embraces its local heritage and natural environment. The town centre is already starting to take shape, after the recent opening of the Everyone Active leisure centre with six lane swimming pool, fitness centre and studios adjacent to The Shed, and even more entertainment, leisure, health and retail options in the pipeline.
Whitehill & Bordon is being transformed into a sustainable green, healthy and connected town and the new town centre will be a place to be immersed in retail, leisure and wellbeing amenities, as well offering 150 hectares of green space at Hogmoor Inclosure and Bordon Inclosure.
