An engineering company whose Birmingham factory stands on the site of a proposed residential development is relocating after acquiring a new base in Staffordshire, property consultancy Burley Browne announced today.
AJS Midlands, a family-run business which specialises in heating and ventilation manufacturing, is moving to Tame Valley Industrial Estate in Wilnecote, Tamworth, following the £1.175 million acquisition of Units 2-3 Viking, totalling 12,133 sq ft.
Burley Browne, based in Sutton Coldfield, was instructed by a private client to market the Tamworth unit for sale or to let, which generated a high number of serious enquiries.
Associate Director Ben Nicholson said: “The property generated a strong level of competing interest and offered a rare opportunity to acquire a freehold industrial warehouse building with a good sized yard. We are delighted to have been able to secure the disposal and the relocation of AJS Midlands.
“Whilst we are all working within unusual conditions, this disposal demonstrates the continued high level of demand, particularly for this style of building in a desirable location.
“The building provides high quality accommodation in a very well connected area, being near the A5, linking to the M6 and the M42 motorways.
