Telecoms giant Virgin Media has launched its new regional headquarters in Solihull following a £1.5 million transformation of the offices by leading fit out specialists Overbury.
Virgin Media is operating from Eagle Court on the A45 Coventry Road where its team of more than 300 employees has been provided with first class facilities and a design that clearly reflects the internationally recognised brand.
The company has consolidated teams from offices in Brierley Hill, Redditch and Small Heath into one central 66,000 sq ft call centre and training facility. Included in the new office layout are collaborative areas, technical training facilities, breakout areas and private meeting rooms.
Julian Lebray, managing director of Overbury’s Central region, said: “It really has been a pleasure to work alongside the team at Virgin Media to transform the office space into a place that employees can be proud of and which provides an environment they will enjoy working in.
“We worked hand in hand with Virgin Media’s branding team to develop the design ideas and ensure that the end product reflected the brand’s culture. The project featured three floors of open plan office space, a catering kitchen and special branded areas. Relaxed meeting spaces were also introduced to help improve communication and encourage collaborative working between employees.
“Virgin Media is a prestigious name and we are proud to have worked on a project that is a fine example of how offices can be enviromentally friendly, more efficient, and fun.”
Maurice Daw, Virgin Media’s executive director for access, said: “The intention was to create a new centre of excellence for customer service and regional operations in the area. The offices were designed with improving efficiencies and collaboration in mind, as well as providing a significantly enhanced working environment for our employees. Overbury has helped us to achieve this goal and we are extremely pleased with the result.”
Eagle Court is prominently located on the A45 Coventry Road, near Birmingham Airport. Overbury worked alongside Virgin Media’s designers to deliver a full fit out and furniture service for the project, which was completed in the summer.
